Norma Satizábal

Norma’s floral design experience is backed by and grounded in years of gardening and horticulture. Working with her mother and sister, Norma began cultivating orchids and other tropical plants native to the lush mountains of Colombia. She layered onto this experience in cultivation, a study of European and Asian gardening techniques. She leverages both her gardening and horticulture experience daily to deliver lasting and beautiful creations.

Verdant Floral has proudly been serving Connecticut since 2010.

Norma brings classic sophistication to her signature designs, stemming from over 25 years of experience at high-end boutiques in Manhattan, including Doro’s Annex in Chelsea and Le Bouquet on the Upper East Side. Combining elegance and simplicity with a touch of flair, Norma’s design style ranges from stately, monochromatic bouquets to evocative displays composed of exotic, tropical plants and floral species. During her tenure at Doro’s, Norma had the opportunity to tailor her designs for the luxury retail and entertainment industries. She has contributed to projects and events for the likes of Saks Fifth Ave., Bloomingdales, Vera Wang, Hermes, Tocca and others, while also preparing on-set designs for both Sex and the City and Gossip Girl television series. In addition, Norma also has significant experience working corporate, charitable, and private events, and for residential clients throughout Manhattan.
With the launch of Verdant Floral Studio in September 2010, a family tradition that started in Colombia 30 years ago now transforms into the most inspiring and captivating floral designs. Rooted in three generations of experience in floral cultivation and expression, Verdant brings a fusion of contemporary and traditional style with unique accents of Europe, Latin America, and Asia.
